Overview
Athloop ("we", "our", or "the app") creates personalized training plans for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what information the app uses, what leaves your device, who receives it, and how to have it deleted.
In short: there is no account and we never ask for your name or email. If you allow health access, the app sends your recent activity — your workouts and your daily totals for the last 30 days — to our server, which keeps them so that it can keep your plan up to date. When a plan is generated, a short written summary of that activity is sent, together with your goal, to Claude by Anthropic, which writes the plan. We never send where you went: no GPS routes, and no second-by-second recordings.
Information We Collect
Device Identifier
- On iPhone, the app uses the identifier iOS provides to each app vendor (identifierForVendor).
- On Android, the app generates a random identifier the first time it runs and keeps it on the device.
- This identifier links your goals and plans to your device. It is not tied to your name, email address, phone number or advertising ID.
Goals and Plans
- The goals you write, and the target dates you choose
- The training plans, analyses and progress estimates generated for you
- Your language preference (English, French or Spanish), taken from your device settings
Health and Fitness Data (Optional)
If you allow it, the app reads, and never writes, the following data from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android:
- Workouts: activity type, date, duration, distance and energy burned
- Activity: steps, floors climbed, active energy burned, distance, and exercise minutes (iPhone)
- Heart: heart rate and resting heart rate
- Sleep: sleep duration
Health access is optional. Without it, the app still generates plans from your goal alone; they are simply less personalized.
How Health Data Is Handled
- Everything below travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and only if you allowed health access.
- Your recent activity is sent to our server and kept there. For the last 30 days: one entry per workout (its activity type, when it started, how long it lasted, its distance, the energy burned, and the name of the app that recorded it) and one entry per day (steps, floors climbed, active energy, exercise minutes, resting heart rate and hours slept). It is updated, not accumulated: sending the same workout again replaces the entry rather than adding another.
- What is never sent: GPS routes and locations, and the individual readings behind those figures — your heart rate during a session, each minute's step count, your sleep stages. Nothing is sent that the training plan does not use.
- The app also builds a short written summary of that activity on your device (for example "running 5.2km in 35min" for a day, and your daily averages of steps and active energy) and sends it with each plan request. Our server can write the same summary from the activity it holds, which is how your plan stays current when it is renewed without the app being open.
- The summary is stored with the plan it produced, so that the plan can be renewed when it expires.
- The summary — not the entries above — is what is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to write the plan, as described below.
- The day-by-day figures on the Health screen are computed and shown on your device.
How We Use Information
We use the information above only to:
- Analyze your goal and generate, renew and adapt your training plans
- Estimate your progress toward your goal
- Show the app in your language
We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Service Providers
Anthropic (Claude)
- Receives your goal, its target date, your activity summary, and summaries of your previous plans for the same goal, in order to generate your plan
- Does not receive your device identifier

Data Retention and Deletion
- Your goals, plans, activity summaries and recent activity are kept while you use the app.
- Uninstalling the app does not delete them from our server, but they can no longer be reached from a new installation.
- To have your data deleted, email support@athloop.app with the goal you created and roughly when. Since there is no account, this is how we find the data linked to your device. We delete everything we find that is linked to it: the goals, the plans, the activity summaries and the recent activity.
Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data by writing to support@athloop.app. You can withdraw health access at any time:
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Athloop
- Android: Settings → Security & privacy → Health Connect → App permissions → Athloop
Children's Privacy
Athloop is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Apple HealthKit
- Health data is used only to provide the app's fitness features.
- Health data is not used for advertising or marketing, and is not sold to third parties, data brokers or advertisers.
- Health data is stored on our server, hosted by Railway, only to provide the app's fitness features.
- Health data is shared with a third party only as needed to provide the app's features: the activity summary sent to Anthropic.
Google Health Connect
- Athloop's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Data from Health Connect is used only to provide the app's training features, is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.
- It is stored on our server, hosted by Railway, only to provide those features, and is transferred to a third party only as needed to provide them: the activity summary sent to Anthropic.
- Humans do not read it, except with your consent, for security purposes, or where required by law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
