Information We Collect
Device Identification
- We collect a unique device identifier (Device ID) to identify your account and sync your data across app sessions
- This identifier is automatically generated by your iOS device and cannot be used to personally identify you
Health Data (Optional)
If you grant permission, we access the following health data from Apple HealthKit:
- Workouts: Type, duration, distance, calories, and dates
- Heart Rate Data: Heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV)
- Cardiovascular Fitness: VO2 Max
- Activity Metrics: Steps, flights climbed, exercise time, stand time
- Sleep Data: Sleep analysis and duration
- Mobility Metrics: Walking speed, step length, gait metrics
- Body Measurements: Weight, height, body composition
- Vital Signs: Respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, body temperature, blood pressure
Important: HealthKit access is completely optional. The app works without HealthKit permissions, though training plans will be less personalized.
Training Data
- Fitness goals you create
- Target dates and durations for your goals
- Training plans generated by our AI
- Progress tracking and session completion status
Language Preference
- Your device's system language (French or English) is automatically detected and saved to provide localized content
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Create and manage your personalized fitness goals
- Generate AI-powered training plans adapted to your fitness level and health data
- Track your progress toward your goals
- Provide content in your preferred language
- Improve the app's functionality and user experience
Data Storage and Security
Backend Storage
- Your data is securely stored on our backend servers hosted on Railway.app
- We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data
- Data is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections
HealthKit Data
- HealthKit data is never stored on our servers
- Health data is only read from your device when generating training plans
- Only aggregated summaries are sent to our AI service (Claude AI by Anthropic)
- Raw health data remains on your device and is protected by iOS security
Third-Party Services
Claude AI (Anthropic)
- We use Claude AI to analyze your fitness goals and generate personalized training plans
- Only anonymized activity summaries are sent to Claude AI
- No personally identifiable information is shared with Anthropic

Railway.app (Hosting)
Data Retention
- Your account data remains on our servers as long as you use the app
- You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us
- If you delete the app, your backend data will remain but will not be accessible without your Device ID

- Request correction of your data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw HealthKit permissions at any time through iOS Settings
- Export your data (available upon request)
Children's Privacy
Athloop is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

Apple HealthKit Specific Disclosures
In accordance with Apple's HealthKit requirements:
- Health data is used solely for providing and improving health and fitness features
- Health data is not used for advertising or marketing purposes
- Health data is not sold to third parties, data brokers, or advertisers
- Health data is not shared with third parties except as necessary to provide app functionality (anonymized summaries to Claude AI)
- You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health
